Just a quick post with some pics from Easter. Iris really enjoyed coloring the eggs this year. Or maybe I should say coloring her hands. Since none of our chickens lay white eggs I was curious to see what we would get from brown and blue eggs. They turned out very much like white eggs. We did have an interesting thing happen with the purple dye though. It just peeled off. I dipped one in blue and then purple. But then the purple started rubbing off. Same thing with red then purple. I had never seen this before. It made for a cool effect on the eggs. Has anyone else had this happen? The bright orange one I thought was cool because the spots are natural. I'll post more pics of her hunting the eggs later.

Spring/Summer
I think it might actually decide to be warm here. I was beginning to wonder. Of course it's still windy all the time, but at least it's not cold. I am going to try and get my garden in this week. At least some of it. Hopefully we don't get a crazy late frost like is usual here. I'll keep my fingers crossed. I am also hoping to get some fruit. My trees waited till after the cold to bloom this year so I might get something. Aren't the blossoms pretty?

I Remember These...
I found this site via Chocolate On My Cranium and I love it. It is all the old records with stories on them. They add a new one every week. I remember listening to stories on records when we were kids. Then we moved up to cassettes. But they are free to download and they are great to listen to. Hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

Sickie...
Last night was incredibly long. Iris woke up about 11:30 throwing up and continued to throw up off and on all night. So needless to say, I didn't get much sleep. Just about the time I'd get back to sleep, she'd start throwing up again. She couldn't keep anything down. We tried to keep her hydrated, but she would just throw up the pedialite, water, or 7-up. She wouldn't eat anything. So the poor thing was just miserable. She's been a little better today. She is sleeping right now and has eaten more, but she still just wanted to cuddle all day today which always means she doesn't feel good. Not that I don't love the cuddles I just don't like that she has to be sick for me to get them. We're not sure what she has, just a little stomach bug I think, but it's not good. I'm just glad Donevan hasn't been affected by it.
On a lighter note, Donevan's 6 month appointment is on Tuesday. I always get a little excited to see how much he's grown. Of course the shots that he has to get aren't too exciting. This 6 months has gone by unusually fast. He is getting so big. What a sweetheart he is. He is always so happy. Smiling all the time. He just adores Iris. All she has to do is look at him and he just breaks out in a huge smile and starts giggling. And she is so cute with him. Her little "Hey Buddy" or "Hi Brother" is heartmelting. I just hope they continue to get along as they get older.

Happy Birthday Evan!
Today is Evan's birthday and I just wanted to tell him Happy Birthday and I hope you had a good one even though nothing that I had planned worked out.
I am really blessed to have you in my life. I am thankful for the family that we have created together. I'm glad to be able to spend the rest of eternity with you. Thank you for loving me and being my friend.
