Take Me Out to the Ball Game...

So this is just a quick post with a few pictures. All the other pictures I want to post are on the other computer. But here's a few to tide you over.

This is the opening game for the Reno Aces. That was Donevan's first baseball game. Nonnie and Grandpa Dahl came and we had a great time. The stadium is great. Not really a bad seat in the place. There were a ton of people at this game.

And this is the mascot, Archie, whom Iris is in love with. Why, I don't know, but she just gets so excited when she sees him. She is holding a little Archie doll that her uncle got for her. Speaking of which... yesterday I was in her room folding clothes and I heard her say, " Ow. Hurt." So I expected her to come in and have me kiss it better. She came in and grabbed Archie and held him up to her knee and made a kissing sound and then put him down and left. I guess Archie kisses hurts better than Mom now. And yet she screamed on Santa's lap. Hmmm...

After the games we usually go to the Siena and get some free arcade tokens with coupons from the game and play a few games. Iris likes the air hockey table. We pull a chair up to it so she can play. She usually just ends up putting the puck in her own goal but she has a good time.

Iris Turns Two!

Iris had her second birthday on May 30th. Those two years went by so quickly. She has been such a joy to have in our home. There are many times when I can see why they are called the "terrible twos" but there are so many other times when I just look at her and smile, and think to myself, "How did I get so lucky."

Here are a few of Iris' favorite things at two:

Animals- of any kind. She loves her "chichins" (aka chickens) and ducks, goats, "Rossy" (Roxy), Rowdy, Tina, and our newest addition, Glory the horse.

Her Daddy. She has always been a Daddy's girl and I don't think that will ever change.

She has been totally obsessed with Starfall.com. Every time I get on the computer she comes running and wants to do her letters. She loves this site and I think it has really helped her learn her letters. I have to brag a little and say that she knows every letter and number up to ten. It is so much fun to see her learn and discover.

"Pitty Desses"-(pretty dresses), this child is the ultimate princess. I don't know how that happened, because if any of you know me very well, you know that I am far from being very girly, but this little girl is GIRLY. At two years old she screams if her socks don't match her shirt. And she is always wanting to wear pretty dresses.

Baby Einstein- She loves watching her "movies". The music, the puppets, the pictures. We borrowed some from my mom and checked a couple out at the library and she wants to watch them over and over.

Dirt- well I should clarify. She loves dirt, but hates mud. If she gets mud on her shoes or hands, it's over. She starts screaming. I don't know why that is.

Juice and fruit snacks- and I think "peshow moke" (special milk-aka pink milk) rates up there pretty high too.

Baseball- she loves going to the Aces games with us and especially loves Archie the big red mascot. She was afraid of Santa, but runs to a big red furry blob. Go figure.

Her little brother- as long as he isn't touching any of her things.

I look forward to the years to come with her. She has such a great personality. Quite the comedian. She has a very infectious giggle and a melt-your-heart-smile. I'm always anxious to see what she'll come up with next.

Happy Birthday my little Sugar Pie.

New Background

I decided to switch it up a little bit and try a different background. What do you think?

It has rained here in Reno like 5 days in a row. Crazy. It usually starts out like a nice day, then by afternoon the clouds roll in and we get rained on. Don't get me wrong...I love the rain...and we can really use it... it just makes it hard to get my garden in. I wish it was already in and getting this rain. On the up side we haven't had to water the lawn for a while.

Here's a few pics of the kiddos. Iris likes holding Donevan but usually ends up messing with his ears or something.

A Major Breakthrough

Donevan is now the proud owner of two little teeth. They made their way through this weekend. He wasn't too fussy. I was letting him chew on my finger and noticed that his bite was quite a bit sharper. He is getting so big. Lately he loves blowing raspberries and laughing at his sister. He is almost able to sit up on his own. Still a little wobbly. Growing way too fast. I just love my little man.
