Ouch!

Iris got her first real owie the other day. She made friends with the coffee table. She got a little cut and scrape from it. Wasn't too bad. It's got a good little scar on it now. I'm sure it's the first of many to come. I also got a new haircut about a month ago and wanted everyone to see what it looked like after I came from the salon. I can never get it to look the same as they do it there so here is a picture of what it looked like. We were setting up for the prom and those were the backgrounds we used.

Lots of fun

I have a lot of pictures to post. Some from Houston. Some from Easter. Some from Virginia City. We went there last week and wandered around and got some of the old fashioned pictures done at Garters and Bloomers. It was pretty fun.
The weather is finally starting to get warmer. We had a wedding in Incline Village on Saturday and it was gorgeous. And Sunday was beautiful too. Makes me want to get out and play some softball. Of course the rest of the week, when I had planned to work in the garden, the wind is blowing like 90 miles an hour. Today is supposed to be nice, so maybe I can get outside.
I just have to vent for one minute about the airport. I checked my stroller at the plane in Houston so that it would be waiting for me when I got off the plane. Well...I waited and waited and finally asked if someone was going to bring me my stroller, (this was at midnight, mind you, and Iris was asleep in my arms. They called someone and asked if they were going to bring it up and they said it got put on the truck to take to the baggage claim. So I had to carry Iris all the way through the airport. I wasn't happy. Until I saw Evan. He was waiting with a dozen white roses for me. What a sweetie!! But then we waited at the baggage claim. Got my suitcase and car seat, but no stroller. So we went and asked the lady where it was and she said they had it and would be bringing it right down. We, of course, didn't want to wait since it was almost 1 in the morning so we left our address and told them to deliver it to us. Well...it was over a week and we finally just had to go pick it up. It was just sitting there in the office. Obviously, no one was going to deliver it to us. What a headache.
Anyways, on a lighter note, Evan got some more chicks and two turkey chicks. They are getting big fast. Pretty soon we'll be able to take them out of the garage and slowly introduce them to Hopper our big chicken and Bill the Duck. Hopefully these chicks will make it and we'll be able to get some eggs out of them. Hopper is laying about every other day. So that's nice. It'll be fun to see how it goes with the turkeys. Evan wants to raise one for Thanksgiving, but I don't think he'll be able to kill it. We'll see.
I'll have to take some pictures of them and put them on here.

The picture of Iris screaming and hitting Kade with the basketball, was typical behavior the whole time we were there. Kade knocked her over once and she never forgot it. Any time he would start to come towards her, she would scream and take a swing at him. She is such a bully!

Houston

We are here in Houston and are about to die from the heat and humidity. It was around 80 degrees with 80% humidity. Yikes! I'm gonna go home to Reno and freeze my butt off. But it is nice to feel a little warmth. Just makes me even more excited for the weather to get warm so we can get outside.

Evan told me that while I've been gone he tore out all the dead trees and plants and got some new ones to plant when I get home. I know I keep saying it, but I can't wait to plant my garden. After everything grew so well last year, it got me all excited for this year. I just really have to pay attention to the weather so it doesn't freeze again.

We went to the Children's Museum this morning. Kanigh loved it. Iris and Kade are still a little young to really enjoy it, but they all seemed to have a good time. It's really been fun hanging out with Haley and remembering all the fun times from when we were kids. We got to talking about how scary our house in Alamo was and the scary stories that we were glad Mom never told us while we were living there. I always had a hard time being there by myself.

Well I guess I'll write more later. And I'll put some pictures on when I get home.
