Iris Turns Two!

Iris had her second birthday on May 30th. Those two years went by so quickly. She has been such a joy to have in our home. There are many times when I can see why they are called the "terrible twos" but there are so many other times when I just look at her and smile, and think to myself, "How did I get so lucky."

Here are a few of Iris' favorite things at two:

Animals- of any kind. She loves her "chichins" (aka chickens) and ducks, goats, "Rossy" (Roxy), Rowdy, Tina, and our newest addition, Glory the horse.

Her Daddy. She has always been a Daddy's girl and I don't think that will ever change.

She has been totally obsessed with Starfall.com. Every time I get on the computer she comes running and wants to do her letters. She loves this site and I think it has really helped her learn her letters. I have to brag a little and say that she knows every letter and number up to ten. It is so much fun to see her learn and discover.

"Pitty Desses"-(pretty dresses), this child is the ultimate princess. I don't know how that happened, because if any of you know me very well, you know that I am far from being very girly, but this little girl is GIRLY. At two years old she screams if her socks don't match her shirt. And she is always wanting to wear pretty dresses.

Baby Einstein- She loves watching her "movies". The music, the puppets, the pictures. We borrowed some from my mom and checked a couple out at the library and she wants to watch them over and over.

Dirt- well I should clarify. She loves dirt, but hates mud. If she gets mud on her shoes or hands, it's over. She starts screaming. I don't know why that is.

Juice and fruit snacks- and I think "peshow moke" (special milk-aka pink milk) rates up there pretty high too.

Baseball- she loves going to the Aces games with us and especially loves Archie the big red mascot. She was afraid of Santa, but runs to a big red furry blob. Go figure.

Her little brother- as long as he isn't touching any of her things.

I look forward to the years to come with her. She has such a great personality. Quite the comedian. She has a very infectious giggle and a melt-your-heart-smile. I'm always anxious to see what she'll come up with next.

Happy Birthday my little Sugar Pie.
